Job Title: Cardiac Instructor

Position Overview
Responsible for delivering high-quality education and clinical training in cardiac sonography to students. Includes preparing lesson plans, teaching theoretical concepts, overseeing hands-on practice, assessing student performance, and maintaining clinical and academic standards.
Primary Responsibilities:
•
Deliver engaging and comprehensive lectures in cardiac anatomy, pathology, and echocardiographic techniques.
•
Teach hands-on skills in performing echocardiograms, including M-mode, 2D imaging, Doppler, color flow, and strain imaging.
•
Prepare and update course materials, syllabi, lesson plans, and lab activities according to accreditation and program standards.
•
Supervise and evaluate students during lab practice and clinical rotations
•
Provide constructive feedback and mentoring to help students achieve proficiency.
•
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and competency evaluations
•
Collaborate with other faculty and clinical sites to ensure consistent educational outcomes.
•
Stay current with developments in cardiac imaging and update course content as necessary
•
Participate in faculty meetings, curriculum development, accreditation processes, and program reviews
•
Ensure compliance with institutional policies, accreditations standards, and clinical site requirements.
•
Model professional behavior and ethics in all educational activities
Required Qualifications:
•
Diagnostic Medical Sonographer or a related field
•
Current certification and Adult Echocardiography (RDCS-AE) through ARDMS or RCS credential through CCI
•
Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in cardiac sonography
•
Prior teaching or mentoring experience preferred
•
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
•
Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple priorities
Working Conditions:
•
Classroom, laboratory, and occasional clinical site environment
•
May require standing for extended periods during lectures or lab sessions
•
Some travel to clinical sites may be required
